Balsam is a complex, multi-component alcoholic drink with a strength of 40-45%. It is made by infusion of vegetable raw materials on alcohol with addition of other ingredients provided by the recipe (essential oils, roots, stalks, leaves, sugar, honey, fruit, etc.). Usually balms have a dark brown color and a characteristic bitter taste.
Methods of use: in its pure form, balms can be aperitifs or Digestives: served before or after meals. In its pure form, they are usually drunk from liqueur glasses in small SIPS. Snack is not required, because any dishes interrupt a pleasant aftertaste of herbs.
Tea and coffee. Only 1-2 teaspoons of balm will make the taste of ordinary tea or coffee unique. Balms include cocktails. Mix with other alcoholic beverages: vodka will radically change the taste, if you add a few drops of balm to the glass.
Together with desserts to diversify the taste of ice cream or other dessert, adding a few drops of balm.
Balms are used in the treatment of colds, as a General tonic to raise immunity and improve the overall tone of the body. JSC "Tatspirtprom" produces two balms: "Bugulma" (40 %) and "Tatarstan" (45 %).
